This week, I'm really not sure what to write about. I feel like this week went by so fast that everything is a blur. I am currently on FaceTime with Addison's little sister scarlett playing hide and seek through the phone, doing Elsa and K-pop concerts, and listening to her "read" me stories, which are definitely one of my favorite occurrences that happen in my week lol. This week(and every week in Mexico), I worked in English and music classes, attempting to teach all 100 kids at the orphanage English, games, and about Jesus. This task is definitely difficult, disheartening, but also super fun. Most of the kids here have been through unimaginable experiences, so navigating a classroom setting can be extremely challenging. Most of them, before coming to this place, never had any structure or rules, so coming here, where they are expected to sit still, be quiet, and listen to strangers who don't even speak the same language, is really hard for them. Also, the fact that the kids know we are leaving keeps them from wanting to connect on a deeper level with us. But, all of this makes when they do reach or move towards building a friendship super rewarding. For our adventure day this week, we went to San Cristobal and walked around the city, shopped in the local vendors, went to a three-story coffee shop, explored a cave, rode horses, went ziplining, had Mexican food, and looked at the many churches! It was a great day with super warm weather and lots of cool memories! For prayer this week health of my team (everyones sick), homesicknes (i really miss everyone at home), and guidance for the future (college and callings).
